Prelude

Our client wanted to tell the passing of time throughout a unique piece that would pay tribute to the most emblematic vintage models. Our craftsmen had to take up a major challenge: give the counters a tropical patina, the evocation of the time that passes, and enriches each timepiece, making it totally unique.

Dial the tropical challenge
It took us several years of research and development to achieve a natural oxidation process that would lead to a uniform amber patina. Our craftsmen carefully prepared the dial and sent it to the Bahamas to mature under the tropical climate. We gave our client to choose between two maturation times: 5 weeks for a dark patina or 7 weeks for a lighter tone.

Backelite Bezel the tropical challenge

The Bezel

The ceramic bezel has been replaced by a bakelite bezel, typical on the models from the 1970s. It is entirely made by hand in our Swiss workshops on old machines.

The Dial

The dial is reworked by hand. We applied a special treatment before submitting it to our exclusive natural oxidation process that makes the counters fade to a brown to rusty patina, depending on the chosen maturation time. The dial is then finished by hand.

The Pushers

We replaced the screw down pushers with the longer “Millerighe” MK00 pushers, developed in our workshops.

As time goes by, timepieces age and shape beautifully. We have worked to reproduce this passage of time, so the dial of our client’s timepiece acquires its natural patina and becomes unique
