Gemology

Gemology is an art of observation, selection and intuition. It’s a meticulous, patient, almost meditative craft that begins long before it reaches the workshop:  in mines, markets and laboratories around the world. Together with our trusted partners, we seek out stones that resonate with your project. It’s a sensitive, bespoke process, where the stones often choose themselves.

Revealing Nature

Uniformity

We look for coherence within a set, the harmony of tones, the accuracy of proportions, to match the aesthetic and emotional intention of each timepiece.

Cutting

We aim for the perfect balance between technical precision and respect for the crystal. Unlike traditional jewelry, cutting in watchmaking is dictated by the timepiece itself. Each gem is recut to the nearest micron to fit the specific dimensions, depths and placements of the case. The challenge is to preserve its intensity, its color and its brilliance, even as we remove material.

Gemology is a revelation. I discovered it after an internship in gem-cutting, where I began to truly understand the nature of a stone. I’ve always been fascinated by Nature and I find that same raw beauty, that authenticity, in gemstones. Behind the microscope, I feel at peace. It’s about matching colors, shapes, but above all, capturing energy. What I love most is guiding watch owners through an intimate, almost introspective choice.

From Craft To Creation

The challenge in gemology: to preserve the stone's color while adjusting its size; to maintain uniformity across all stones while honoring the unique beauty of each crystal.

Absolute Ruby
All 36 rubies were selected for their loupe-clean clarity (no visible inclusions, even under 10x magnification). This level of clarity is extremely rare for rubies, as they almost always contain inclusions.

Blues Sapphires
Musher
The bezel has been completely modified to accommodate 32 blue sapphires. Each stone has been meticulously bevelled and cut to adapt to the delicacy of the bezel and perfectly match the hue of the dial.
Black Stone
A bezel where the hand-set black spinels absorb the light, while the sapphire lets it pass through. A stone symbolising both strength and rarity.
