Before the first stone is set, there is preparation. Each gem must be recalibrated, reshaped and adjusted to fit perfectly into the bezel, the hour-marker or the case.

Nothing Is Standard

The gemsetter’s touch

One by one, the stones are placed on a wax base, warmed over an open flame, to allow for hand-polishing, fine-tuning and repositioning. Then comes the gemsetter’s touch: opening the metal, carving, adjusting and closing.

Each technique has its tools

Bead, channel, bezel, prong: each technique has its tools, its demands. The metal is sculpted to hold and embrace the stone. We press, we set, we balance. A brilliance crafted with micron-level accuracy.

Gemsetting means working with fascinating minerals and revealing their unique character. What I love most is the moment when everything comes together : the stone aligns, adjusts, finds its place. Before that, there’s all the invisible work: the flame, the warm wax, the fine-tuning, the faceting to ensure harmony. Then comes the metal, which we work with hand in hand.

From Craft To Creation

Gemsetting is about balance, precision and intention. It’s a calibrated craft that makes what we create live once.

Black Stone

A bezel where the hand-set black spinels absorb the light, while the sapphire lets it pass through. A stone symbolising both strength and rarity.

Absolute Ruby

All 36 rubies were selected for their loupe-clean clarity (no visible inclusions, even under 10x magnification). This level of clarity is extremely rare for rubies, as they almost always contain inclusions.

Musher

The bezel has been completely modified to accommodate 32 blue sapphires. Each stone has been meticulously bevelled and cut to adapt to the delicacy of the bezel and perfectly match the hue of the dial.
