All modifications are carried out independently and without any approval from the original brand. Each customized watch is for private use only; no responsibility is assumed for any resale or commercial use. The work presented was commissioned by a client and reflects our know-how only; it does not constitute an offer or commitment.

Lighter than light

“No human is limited.” Driven by this shared philosophy, Artisans de Genève and Eliud Kipchoge came together. A legendary athlete and an iconic figure in global marathons, Eliud Kipchoge reached out to our workshops to create a unique watch personalization paying tribute to his entire career.

His project stemmed from a natural affinity for fine craftsmanship and excellence. Between the precision of watchmaking and the rigorous discipline of athletic training, a clear connection emerges: the pursuit of perfection and pushing beyond one's limits.

As the first man to break the mythic two-hour barrier in a marathon, Eliud Kipchoge wanted this timepiece to embody a piece of his history. Throughout our exchanges, the quest for lightness naturally became the guiding thread, culminating in a timepiece weighing just 57 grams.

He was also eager to celebrate his roots: the warm colors and flag of Kenya, fundamental inspirations that guided the entire customization process.

Titalum®

Crafted from Titalum®, an alloy of titanium and aluminum, the timepiece combines exceptional lightness, with the complete timepiece weighing just 57 grams, and remarkable strength. This high-performance alloy ensures exceptional comfort while bringing a sharp, contemporary aesthetic to the case.

Sapphire crystal

Renowned for its exceptional hardness, sapphire protects the dial against daily scratches and impacts. It offers total transparency and optimal legibility under any lighting conditions.

Colours of Kenya

Inspired by the richness of the Kenyan landscape, the chromatic palette celebrates the region's hues. The deep red evokes the earth, the green symbolises lush vegetation, and the white recalls the dazzling light of Mount Kenya's peaks.

Focus On Modifications

Titalum®: an alloy of titanium and aluminum

Artisans de Genève reengineered the middle case, crafting a bespoke housing in Titalum®, an alloy of titanium and aluminum. This choice significantly reduces the overall weight of the timepiece, bringing it down to just 57 grams.

Sapphire bezel insert

Framing the dial, the bezel features a sapphire insert of absolute purity. Its transparency and brilliance allow light to penetrate the smallest corners of the watch, enhancing the legibility of the movement at every second.

Bespoke colors

The tribute to Eliud Kipchoge’s journey is also expressed through a custom color palette integrated into key elements of the watch. From the hands to the sub-dials, as well as the subtle finishes of the case and movement, white, red, and green elevate the structure of the watch in a direct echo of the colors of Kenya.

Dial transparency

The dial architecture centers around a transparent sapphire crystal that catches the light and reveals the skeletonized movement. At any given moment, the movement and the entire chronograph mechanism are exposed to view, ensuring optimal legibility. A simple glance is all it takes to read the exact time with absolute precision.

Other Modifications

Green-luminescent sub-dials

The dial sub-dials feature Super-LumiNova® (SLN) with green emission, providing optimal night legibility and creating a striking visual tension.

Manual-wind movement

To deepen the ritual connection with the timepiece and reduce overall thickness, Caliber 4130® was re-engineered for exclusive manual winding, inspired by vintage timepieces.

Lightning chronograph hand

The central chronograph hand adopts an unprecedented lightning bolt shape, a visual tribute to speed and the power of lightning.

At our company, we customize timepieces by hand. Due to this artisanal process, a waiting period is required. Each moment of waiting ensures you receive a unique piece, crafted with care and passion.

Your personal details

Your story matters to us

  • ARTISANS DE GENEVE is a watchmaking workshop solely dedicated to the art of personalization of timepieces and, therefore, does not sell watches or offers brokerage services.
  • ARTISANS DE GENEVE is an independent company offering online services for the personalization of watchmaking products. ARTISANS DE GENEVE is not affiliated to, authorized or approved by the original manufacturer of the products on which we work.
  • Any modification made by ARTISANS DE GENEVE on a watch will result in the nullity of the warranty issued by the original manufacturer. Our 5-year international warranty will apply on the customized watch.
  • The customer must send the watch to ARTISANS DE GENEVE for modifications within 5 weeks after confirmation of the order. Any watch received after this period will incur a 10% increase in the price of our services.
  • Personalization services performed on the customer's watch are provided by ARTISANS DE GENEVE to the customer exclusively for personal and private use, to the exclusion of any other use, in particular the resale of the watch to a third party.
