Creative Watchmaking

A workshop human scale
Artisans de Genève embodies the fusion between individuals and watchmaking. This is a House where ideas are reimagined collaborative way, according to our clients’ aspirations.

An art dedicated to others
Since its inception, our workshop has worked meticulously to offer our passionate clientele the most personalised horology experience.

Guardians of memories
Creativity has been at the heart of our workshop. Our work almost always consists of bringing together the memories of each individual and transcribing them into the language of watchmaking.

From pencil to reality
La Montoya “Rose” adventure began on paper, with sketches and a multitude of ideas inspired by our customer, which we refined together over time.
A Human And Technical Adventure
In 2016, Juan Pablo Montoya walked into our workshop with an idea that seemed nearly impossible: fully skeletonize the watch that, for him, captured his entire racing career as a driver. That moment marked the start of a bold, human, and technical adventure. In 2018, we completed our first full skeletonization.
This personalization was a first for us and became a turning point for Artisans de Genève: the start of a new chapter in our craftsmanship. Today, this exceptional collaboration continues with La Montoya in rose gold.

Sourcing Of Materials And Colors
Every material and hue is carefully selected to embody both elegance and durability, resulting in a timeless and truly personalized timepiece.

Montoya signature
Blue, yellow, red: the colors of Colombia and Montoya.

Forged carbon bezel
Since 2018, the forged carbon bezel has been a signature element of La Montoya.

Satin-brushed rotor
Satin-brushed 22K rose gold rotor, inspired by motorsport.

Rose gold ring
The rose gold ring adds that light, tying it all back to the case.

For this new customization, Juan Pablo wanted to take it even further by keeping the raw carbon while adding some shine.
Focus On Modifications

Skeletonized movement
A first and a challenge. Inside the Montoya lies a serious technical feat: complete skeletonization of Caliber 4130, originally not designed for openworking. Each bridge, plate, and component was hand-decorated using a traditional jeweler’s saw. A feat of precision that took months, nine artisans, and hours per individual part.

Skeleton dial
Color, depth, structure. A signature element since the first Montoya customization in 2018. Blue, yellow, red: the colors of Colombia and Montoya. Subtle yet clearly intentional. Montoya wanted a dial with structure and depth. Built across multiple levels, it combines satin-brushed and circular satin finishes with polished angles.

Raw meets refined
Since 2018, the forged carbon bezel has been a signature element of La Montoya. The rose gold ring adds that light, tying it all back to the case. A subtle evolution while preserving the same character. Machined from solid material, just like the original.

Signature details include:
- - Hand-decorated with beveled, mirror-polished bridges
- - NAC anthracite finish for added depth
- - Satin-brushed 22K rose gold rotor, inspired by motorsport
- - Customized hand-beveled balance bridge
I chose a model that reflects my greatest wins. Daytona has always been my favorite race.
Inside The Customization
Montoya has always demanded the best, on the track and in life. He wasn’t just after an icon. He wanted his icon. A timepiece that reflects his victories, his doubts, and his comebacks.
