As a Milanese tailor, Luca Rubinacci combines masculine elegance with exceptional craftsmanship. Through his made-to-measure and bespoke offering for the Rubinacci brand, he approaches each garment as an expression of individuality.

Deeply influenced by his Italian roots, the designer places great importance on fabric selection and precision in execution, grounding his work in the extended timeframe inherent to artisanal craftsmanship.

In collaboration with Artisans de Genève, Luca Rubinacci wanted his watch to reflect the principles that guide his creativity every day: a strong cultural grounding, attention to detail, and an intimate approach to color. This private commission gradually took shape over more than two years, through an ongoing dialogue with its owner, Luca Rubinacci, and careful artisanal refinements in our workshop.

From azuré-gold counters in a Croissant hue to selected hands featuring the Sun-dried tomato tone, each color was chosen in reference to Italian culture.

This vibrant burgundy, a Luca Rubinacci signature, is applied to specific hands and indexes. Rather than naming the color, the designer associates it with a visual reference: that of tomatoes ripened under the summer sun. The azuré-gold counters subtly recall a freshly baked croissant.

The dial pays tribute to Mr. Rubinacci’s Neapolitan origins. Designed with a brown and Moka gradient, it recalls the rich tones of coffee.

Its gradient suggests the traces left by coffee at the bottom of a cup, between the grounds and the smooth crema. 

The movement features a dedicated treatment. For the first time at Artisans de Genève, the bridges are finished without traditional Côtes de Genève.

Luca Rubinacci sought a more assertive structure. Our craftsmen therefore developed a new bridge decoration with deliberately rough reliefs, evoking Neapolitan stone and conferring a more defined architecture to the movement.

In addition to the original metal bracelet, Luca Rubinacci chose to integrate an alternative ostrich leather strap, as a reference to his work as a designer.

The hides were sourced from a breeder in Tuscany, near Florence, a region historically renowned for its tanning expertise. The leather was treated in a Moka tone, designed to echo the color of the dial.
