Guardians of memories

Creativity has been at the heart of our workshop. Our work almost always consists of bringing together the memories of each individual and transcribing them into the language of watchmaking.

From pencil to reality

Scona adventure began on paper, with sketches and a multitude of ideas inspired by our customer, which we refined together over time.

A Tribute To A Free Creative Era

“My timepiece is undoubtedly a testament to my desire to create a personalised piece that combines vintage lifestyle codes with my passion for traditional watchmaking. I’ve always been fascinated by this era: the objects, the cars, the unique know-how but also the drive to be ever more creative." - Mr. A.L.

For us, The Scona adventure is a perfect example of a project born of passions and memories bringing together a multitude of Artisans to create the witness of an instant.

Sourcing Of Materials And Colors

Every material and hue is carefully selected to embody both elegance and durability, resulting in a timeless and truly personalized timepiece.

Lacca Smaltatura

To meet our client’s requirements, we had to go back to traditional techniques to rediscover the unique, patinated look of vintage cars.

Midnight blue ceramic

A genuine bridge between the dial of yesteryear and the scratch-resistant materials of tomorrow, ceramic is the ideal material to guarantee resistance over time.

Perfect blue

To find the perfect blue, we conducted dozens of tests and extensive research for our client.

Flam-blued

Each screw is hand-polished and the balance-bridge mirror-polished before being flame-blued

Focus On Modifications

Blue elegance

The realization of the dial requires more than 7 layers of lacquer, each one grained, polished by hand and dried for 24 hours between each layer to obtain an unique domed mirror effect.

Looking to the future

For this unusual project, we had to develop a Ceranotte midnight-blue ceramic for our client, to delicately match the blue colour with cyan highlights typical of lacquer.

Tradizionale finish

Entirely hand-crafted, traditional finish based on our client’s own movement. The bridges are skeletonised and chamfered. The work on each movement is carried out individually and can be customised according to individual desires, finishes and colours.

Other Modifications

Balance bridge

Shaped from a block of hardened steel, the deck is chamfered with a buff and file to give it a perfectly flat, shiny appearance. The black mirror polish is applied entirely by hand before the piece is given a blue PVD treatment.
Four blue clock hands of varying lengths arranged on a beige textured surface.

Hands

The hands have been refined, chamfered and diamond-polished to give them a retro look in keeping with the watches of the time. The counter and chronometer hands are polished and coated with blue PVD.
Blue metallic watch rotor with concentric circular patterns and engraved text 'Artisans De Geneve'.

Rotor

Ornamented with five Côtes de Genève, then meticulously chamfered, the piece is engraved with the Artisans de Genève logo. The final touch is a midnight-blue PVD treatment.

Customization provided me with a creative dimension where my only limit was my imagination. Bringing together a multitude of professions to realise my vision of my ideal watch was a timeless watchmaking experience.
