We are neither affiliated to nor authorized by the manufacturers of the client’s watches, that we accept to customize. They do not approve modifications or personalizations made to their products by unauthorized third parties

Artisans De Genève is an independent watchmaking workshop offering handcrafted timepiece customization and restoration services. We are neither associated nor affiliated with the brands of the timepieces we work on. We carry out our work at the sole request of our customers, on their own timepieces and for their private use only. The work presented was commissioned by one of our customers. This presentation reflects our know-how and has no contractual value.

Strength
and delicacy
Our client’s first request was to open his timepiece to reveal the movement. We immersed ourselves in several traditional techniques to cut and skeletonise his 4302 caliber entirely by hand. A dozen or so sketches were necessary beforehand, in order to measure and study each of the movement’s curves and parts. Our client wanted to add strength and power to his watch. Using a variety of know-how, we applied highly graphic lines to the movement, creating a multitude of inner angles on each of the calibre’s parts. It is now revealed, entirely hand-beveled and decorated with 17 inner bevels, 8 rounded-off angles and a multitude of details almost imperceptible at first glance.

26-ply forged carbon
Forged carbon quickly stood out as the element that could mark and assert the strength of the piece. The bezel has been completely personalized in two parts made of different materials to guarantee water-resistance and full functionality. The first is in 26-ply forged carbon and the second in grade 5 titanium.

“Ice Blue” dial
The dial has been entirely skeletonised to reveal the movement, then circled and angled by hand to showcase the brilliance and nuances. The ice-blue color, blued hour-markers and subtle touches of red contrast with the movement satin’s finish.

The balance bridge
Shaped from a block of hardened steel, it has been buff-beveled and file-rounded to give it a perfectly rounded, shiny appearance. This extremely rigorous technique requires hours of work with a “burin”. The mirror polish is also entirely hand-crafted.

The hands
To simplify time-reading, the hands have been refined, beveled and diamond-polished. Each hand has been fully polished and flame-blued following traditional techniques.
