Keeper of
my memories

Creativity has been at the heart of our workshop since its inception. Our work consistently involves bringing together memories and moments and translating them into the language of watchmaking. Through your own project, we combine different skills and crafts to bring these often intangible moments to life. By blending surprising colours with often-forgotten arts and crafts, we can, for a moment, bring to life old lacquering techniques and skills steeped in memories.

A word from our client: Mr A.L

My tribute to a free creative era

“My timepiece is undoubtedly a testament to my desire to create a personalised piece that combines vintage lifestyle codes with my passion for traditional watchmaking. I’ve always been fascinated by this era: the objects, the cars, the unique know-how but also the drive to be ever more creative. Customization provided me with a creative dimension where my only limit was my imagination. Bringing together a multitude of professions to realise my vision of my ideal watch was a timeless watchmaking experience.”

Creating
uniqueness
out of many

Artisans de Genève embodies the fusion between people and watchmaking. A Maison where people share and rethink their watches together, according to their aspirations. In Geneva, all the traditional watchmaking crafts are brought together in a single location, offering a wide range of possibilities to meet the different needs and desires of all. In this dedicated setting, we hand-craft all the restorations, repairs and modifications which are carried out upon our client’s personal request.

Returning to our roots

An Art dedicated
to others

Since its creation, L’Atelier has always worked to offer passionate clients more personal watchmaking. This is a return to the origins of the profession, where watchmakers devoted themselves to the individual desires of each client, according to their codes, their taste and their own background. In doing so, we’ve gone back to the roots of a calling where man, handicraft and tools were the definitive masters behind a client’s desires.

lacca
smaltatura

To meet our client’s requirements, we had to go back to traditional techniques to rediscover the unique, patinated look of vintage cars. We were able to find these mythical lacquers in the province of Venice, Italy. The realization of the dial requires more than 7 layers of lacquer, each one grained, polished by hand and dried for 24 hours between each layer to obtain an unique domed mirror effect.

Midnight blue
ceramic

A genuine bridge between the dial of yesteryear and the scratch-resistant materials of tomorrow, ceramic is the ideal material to guarantee resistance over time. For this unusual project, we had to develop a Ceranotte midnight-blue ceramic for our client, to delicately match the blue colour with cyan highlights typical of lacquer.

Tradizionale
finish

Entirely hand-crafted, traditional finish based on our client’s own movement. The bridges are skeletonised and chamfered. Each screw is hand-polished and the balance-bridge mirror-polished before being flame-blued. The work on each movement is carried out individually and can be customised according to individual desires, finishes and colours.

Ag Scona Sign Bezel

The balance-bridge

Shaped from a block of hardened steel, the deck is chamfered with a buff and file to give it a perfectly flat, shiny appearance. The black mirror polish is produced entirely by hand before being manually flame-blued.

Hands

The hands have been refined, chamfered and diamond-polished to give a retro effect, in keeping with the watches of the time. The counter and chronometer hands are polished and traditionally flame-blued.
Ag Scona Sign Rotor

The rotor

Made from a block of solid 21K white gold, we decorated it with 5 Côtes de Genève and chamfered it, before engraving it and bluing it with a midnight blue PVD treatment.
